Flat bottom and elegant three crest design
Its flat bottom is the perfect shape to brew a high quality gyokuro or sencha as it allows the tea leaves to spread out and unfurl without being obstructed by upper layers of leaf.
The crests on the lid were hand-carved with the utmost care and skill of an artisan potter in Japan’s most famous tea pot manufacturing region, Tokoname.
Broad pottery strainer inset
The minuteness of the holes in the pottery strainer inset of this tea pot makes for a versatile applicability, allowing its user to easily brew even smaller leaf type teas such as gyokuro in this kyusu. The broadness of the strainer inset allows for easy cleaning of the teapot.
Versatile small tea pot
It’s a versatile tea pot allowing you to brew any type of tea in it. And thanks to its small size, only 120 ml large, it is especially suitable for brewing for yourself, or to share with a companion. It even makes for a compact, sturdy travel companion to enjoy a cup of tea wherever you are.
Tokoname-yaki is one of the largest producers of tea-ware, and especially kyusu tea-pots in Japan. Their Kyusu are very user friendly and are created with the greatest attention to the balance and harmony between beauty and usefulness.
