The Kōshun cultivar is an average grower, bred from the Kurasawa cultivar, which was pollinated with spores from the Kanayamidori cultivar. Its surface branches grow out broadly and has an average speed of development. It produces a tea with a good appearance. Also the quality of the color, fragrance, and flavor of the brew is high. It contains only low amounts of nitrates and amino acids.
