Amazing pattern
The interior of the bowl resembles an azure blue ocean. It is a beautiful feature that was enhanced by the choice of glaze to use for the interior of the bowl. A beautiful and refreshing image that is especially suitable for a refreshing bowl of matcha during summer.

Traditional style
This tea-bowl is ideal in size for those with smaller hands, and fits perfectly in anyone’s grip. The dent underneath the rim is indicative of the kyo-gata style, a trait indicative of the earliest tea-bowls of the tenmoku style, which were, and still are used during offerings of tea to gods and buddhas.
Matcha tea bowl
This tea bowl is the perfect companion for your daily matcha routine.

Tokoname ware
Tokoname-yaki is one of the largest producers of tea-ware, and especially kyusu tea-pots in Japan. Their utensils are very user friendly and are created with the greatest attention to the balance and harmony between beauty and usefulness.

I purchased this bowl a while ago (maybe in a matcha set, but I do not remember). The small size, hefty weight, and affordable price point make it an excellent travel bowl. The colors are stunning, with the speckled gray exterior and the striking blue-green inner bowl. Guests I use this bowl to serve to, especially those new to matcha, are often in awe of it.
The size is very small in comparison to a lot of matcha bowls, so it is a great choice for some folks with smaller hands and children to learn a tea ritual if that interests you. One note is that if you have arthritic fingers the very short foot can be a little challenging to work with unless/until you’ve mastered a bit of an iron grip.
The inner bowl itself is very smooth, with some very tiny inconsequential bumps. It is great for whisking usucha without having to worry about it eating through your chasen too fast. It is a great choice for a casual or first time matcha bowl.
