Natural Genmaicha – Himawari

This genmaicha is a fragrant combination of the thirst quenching character of naturally grown sencha from Kyoto, with the sweet nutty aroma of organically produced whole rice from Kyushu, southern Japan.

The tea is produced by bestowing only the remains from rapeseed, tea and sunflower seeds  – used for the production of oil – in between the rows of bushes. This imbues the tea with a natural, yet sufficiently sweet scent. The soil upon which the bushes are grown contains a large amount of pebbles, stimulating the continuity and flow of water and nutrition through its pores. A tea grown upon such fertile soil, is certain to become imbued with the freshness and a multitude of minerals, largely enhancing the joy it offers to its drinker.
