Pan-fired Kamairicha Sōfū


This tea is produced in Ureshino, Saga prefecture, a small rural area famous for its many ‘onsen’ hot-springs. The farm is situated higher up in the mountains at a height ranging between 200 – 400m above sea level. The rough mountain surface points at a soil heavy in rock and pebble, again suggesting a high amount of minerals to be absorbed by the tea bushes. Since no fertiliser other than natural forest litter and homemade compost is used, this tea gains most of its flavor from its natural surroundings.
