About the manufacturer

Nagatani
Vice-President at Nagatani Tea Factory
The firm has a long tradition of tea manufacturing in one of the original regions where tea production originated. Uji-tawara is the home of Nagatani Soen who invented the methods for contemporary sencha production. While maintaining this tradition, the manufacturers also aim to produce an equally qualitative tea by observing solely organic farming methods on their in-house tea farms.

This Gyokuro, in my opinion, has a nice relaxing amount of L-Theanine – the calm and happy amino acid in tea. I especially enjoyed the fragrance which added so much to the enjoyment of this tea.

Wow! I never had tea curl my tongue and make me smile like this Gyokuro. My first experience with Gyokuro and it has to be one of the most delicious teas I have ever tried. I follow the brewing hints and it never fails to lift my mood. I never knew tea could do that.

One never gets tired of re-discovering mother nature’s magic, which always comes through in organic produce, as here – it’s so very “alive”. When tasting it, the mind did not think: Oh, this is a gyokuro. Rather: This is good tea!
